Well, it looks like I won’t be wet from my sweat anymore; I
will be wet from rain. Yup, cambios. Me voy a CAJAMARCA. Look up pics I dare
you. I’m just in time for the rainy season (which is a lot of rain) and
Carnival. Sick. I will now wear layers and huge rain boots instead of bottles
of Deet and pants. Crazy. But all will be good. In San Pedro this week it has
rained a little almost every day...but still so hot!!!!!!! But I will be
getting more rain in Cajamarca...
This week we had an amazing fireside that we put on with the
elders in our branch. It was all centered on the restoration. We had mini talks
and in-between we had musical numbers. Normally I don't feel the spirit super
strongly through music. Maybe it’s because I am normally playing the piano or
singing or when I listen to music I automatically imagine the sheet music in my
head. But with our special musical numbers I felt the spirit testify so much of
the restoration. And it is a huge blessing that we could do it. Because I will
be frank and honest....Latinos can’t sing. IT literally takes all of me not to
laugh or cry during sacrament meeting. Elder Jacob Lee and I have had PLENTY of
conversations of this. But, my comp from Ecuador can carry Soprano and play the
violin. One of the Elders from Peru sang in a well-known group before his
mission, so he can sing the melody too. And I can sing parts and Elder Smith
too. So with me on piano, my comp on violin and us all singing in
parts...MAGIC. We did "Oh Holy Night" "He Sent His Son" and
"Joseph Smiths First Prayer" (I think that’s what it is...I can’t
remember in English). Sooooo awesome with our arrangements that we put together
and it was just so awesome. And TONS of investigators, less actives and ward
members came. It was so great. Such a blessing. It was so awesome. Answer to our
prayers. Also, 7 minutes of messing around on the violin can be just enough to
play I am a Child of God and other simple primary songs. ;)
This week was Hermana Delgados birthday. So that was fun...we
ate a lot. People love us...haha. It will be so sad to leave San Pedro;
especially since this week we had worked so hard to help our area progress for
the Elders. Transfers are just heartbreaking. But they need to happen. So we
make the very best of them. :) I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Think of me every time you eat candy that is not halls cough
drops, or chew gum that is cough drop flavored. They have other candy here, but
everyone loves the halls. hahaha.
